THE 19th INTERNATIONAL YOUTH FESTIVAL

The 19th International Youth Festival ( Mladifest 19 ) will take place in Medjugorje from August 1st to August 6th, 2008.

The theme of the event is, “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you will be my witnesses”(“In silence may the Holy Spirit speak to you and permit Him to convert and change you.” Message of July 25, 2006)

(This theme is in harmony with the theme of the 23rd World Youth Day, which is taking place in Australia.)

Thousands of young people, from all over the world, will gather together in Medjugorje like they did every year.

More than 30.000 young people from all over the world came together in Medjugorje last year, in order to encounter Jesus in Mary’s school of peace and joy… flags of about 50 countries were fluttering in the rhythm of the songs…

Every evening, Rosary and prayer of the faithful will be pray in 24 different languages:

Croatian, English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Polish, Czech, Slovak, Russian, Hungarian, Romanian, Korean, Arabic, Chinese, Slovene, Serbian, Aramaic, Dutch, Ukrainian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Hebrew, Maltese.

23 interpreters will simultaneously translate masses from the Croatian into 15 languages :

English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Polish, Czech, Slovak, Russian, Hungarian, Romanian, Korean, Slovene, Arabic, Chinese.

Hundred of young people from different countries are going to form the International choir and orchestra, which will accompany the festival with music, singing and dancing.

This festival is an unforgettable and emotional experience, it is such a strong feeling of togetherness you will hardly find somewhere else.

The person next to you isn`t a stranger even you have never seen him before, and you will take his hand and pray with him because all people came by the same token : peace,joy, faith and hope .
